Justice League Movie: DC Comics’ Justice League movie is way too far from its cinema release, but there is already a lot of hullabaloo about the movie.  Ever since DC Comics’ superhero mashup was announced, a lot of speculations has been abuzz in the industry.  Signing on of directors, signing off of directors, actors coming onboard, actors going offshore and a lot of other rumors. JUSTICE LEAGUE – a movie adapted from DC Comics’ Justice League book is the amalgamation of all the DC Comics’ superheroes featuring greatest superheroes of comics books like Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern and many more. Now, producers of the movie had conceived the idea of Justice League movie right when the first DC Comics’ movie was released. A lot of years have passed since then, and Justice League is still dwindling in the void.

One of the  fundamental reason for such a delay is because DC Comics and Warner Brothers wanted all the DC Comics’ superheroes to have their own movie before going ahead with Justice League. When Batman, Superman and Green Lantern had their movies launched, DC Comics thought it was the time, but then another cerebration struck their consciousnesses that Superman franchise, which had lost its touch, had to be rebooted. Thus, Superman – Man of Steel was produced. Now that both Batman and Superman franchises are fully developed and making a lot of bucks, DC Comics thinks it’s the time for Justice League movie. Why not, we say!

Now coming back to our topic, that was, the hinderance that posed delay to Justice League – the things that have been happening with the project. Here we go lads, the facts about the movie that you didn’t know. Justice League lovers would love ‘em. These facts are the reason for Justice League’s holding off for so long.

Exciting Fact #1Back in 2007, when Warner Bros thought of making Justice League, George Miller – an Oscar winning director of Mad Max was signed to direct the movie. He eventually resigned off the project in 2010 when he saw no development for the movie.

Exciting Fact #2. DC Comics and Warner Bros had decided to release JUSTICE LEAGUE in 2015 to compete with The Avengers 2, however after the gargantuan success of The Avengers, they postponed the release date to 2017. 

Exciting Fact #3. Director George Miller, who was signed in 2007 for the project had casted Armie Hammer as Batman, D.J. Cotrona as Superman, Megan Gale as Wonder Woman, Santiago Cabrera as Aquaman, Hugh Keays-Byrne as Martian Manhunter, Common as Green Lantern and Adam Brody as the Flash. The filming couldn’t start that time and the cast left subsequently. 

Exciting Fact #4Actor Columbus Short – Losers, turned down the offer to play Green Lantern. The rapper Common was cast instead. 

Exciting Fact #5. The role of Wonder Woman was first offered to Jessica Biel, after she turned down the offer, Mary Elizabeth Winstead – The Spectacular Now, Christina Milian, Teresa Palmer and Shannyn Sossamon auditioned for the pertinent role but it ultimately went to model Megan Gale. 

Exciting Fact #6In January 2008, Warner Bros had declared the project to be ‘not happening in the near future’. 

Exciting Fact #7DC Comics and Warner Bros wanted the script for Justice League movie to be a perfect storyline with no loopholes or shortcomings, however, due to the Writers Guild of America strike in 2008, they couldn’t find good writers for the movie. 

Exciting Fact #8Interestingly, Warner Bros, at some time during 2008 or 2009, had given a thought to shot Justice Leauge in both motion-capture and animation. How fascinating could’ve that been? 

Exciting Fact #9Marit Ellen – the costume designer for Hulk and Brokeback Mountain, was hired as the costume designer for Justice League movie but she passed away in November 2007. 

Exciting Fact #10. In 2007, the storyline for JUSTICE LEAGUE was unveiled – the story was based on DC Comics’ Justice League – The New Frontier story featuring superheroes forming up to fight JLA and The New 52 – an alien race contriving to annihilate Earth and its inhabitants.
