#1. First things first: THE WOLF OF WALL STREET is the fifth movie collaboration of Leonardo DiCaprio and Martin Scorsese – the actor-director-duo have previously worked together in Gangs of New York, The Departed, Shutter Island and The Aviator. 

#2. Despite his lover-repute in his early movies, Leonardo DiCaprio is considered a shy fella in Hollywood. For instance, for a kissing sequence in THE WOLF OF WALL STREET between him and Joanna Lumely, he was so nervous that it took 27 takes to finally get the scene right.  

#3. Before the role of Leah Belfort – DiCaprion’s character’s wife – went to Christine Ebersole, it was first offered to actress Julie Andrews.

#4. On the very first day of filming of THE WOLF OF WALL STREET, the handle of Leonardo DiCaprio’s briefcase broke which nearly caused an accident as a period car nearly hit DiCaprio.

#5. The role Aunt Emma which is played by Joanna Lumley, was first offered to Eileen Atkins [ Cold Mountain ].
